Message from the Congress Chair, Mr. Paul Chan
The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) World Congress is recognized as the largest annual event for the landscape architecture profession. The Congress welcomes over 120 delegates from more than 80 countries and regions, alongside more than 1500 international and local participants. The Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) will host the 62nd IFLA World Congress taking place in Hong Kong 28 – 30 October 2026 for the first time, under the theme “Liminal Landscapes”. The event will showcase the impact of landscape architecture to the dynamic world through inspiring dialogues and presentations, tour visits, exhibitions.
Hong Kong is a city of contrast and of harmony, a vibrant mosaic of culture shaped by centuries of Chinese traditions with a deep cultural fusion of the west in every fabric of our daily life. Beyond the urban intensity of one of the most iconic skylines, you will also discover the scenic landscapes that surprise and inspire, reminding us we are part of nature, even in the most densely populated cities.
